Over 800 Dengue Cases Reported in Sindh So Far in 2025

Health authorities intensify anti-dengue efforts as Karachi remains the worst hit

ISLAMABAD, October 16, 2025 — The Sindh Health Department has reported 819 dengue cases across the province since the beginning of the year, with 175 new cases recorded in October alone.

According to the department’s latest update, one fatality has been confirmed so far in 2025. Karachi remains the most affected city, accounting for 85 of the new cases reported this month.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho expressed concern over the rising number of infections, saying the provincial government is taking comprehensive measures to control the outbreak.

“Safeguarding public health is our top priority. The administration is utilizing all available resources to eliminate dengue and other vector-borne diseases,” Pechuho said.

She added that health teams are closely monitoring both suspected and confirmed cases across all districts and are working in coordination with local administrations to ensure immediate preventive and remedial actions.

The minister urged the public to remain vigilant, maintain clean surroundings, and take necessary precautions to prevent mosquito breeding, particularly during the post-monsoon season when dengue cases typically surge.
